kex.v - over usd200/t for the barite f.o.b. millsite, i hear, that would be four or five grand per semi load, all you do is scratch it up and grind it, impurities don't much matter as long as the specific gravity is there ... but cash flow is boring, and as the Pez would say it's the kiss of death for a speckie to turn a profit, hope they avoid that with lots of drilling -g- ... thought i was loaded up on kex, but may stick another bid or two in if more comes out like that
Ethanol - [in re a post of yours upthread] - ethanol is a fantastically stupid rip-off when it means burning up your food supply on the highway while losing energy in the process, so i don't care if an ethanol outfit doing that runs its share to the moon, i don't want any part of it ... one way ethanol makes sense would be if DC stopped their ridiculous tariff wall against brasilian ethanol, and tanker loads came in - made from sugar cane you get a positive EROEI [energy return on energy invested] instead of a negative one when you use up the three or four per cent food value part from the maize plant
Fertiliser - more attractive imho, pretty easy to see how there could be money in leaching potash ... trouble is that isx.v is already shot way up, still going to look at it though ... but damn i like your Kent, Red, great pick ... glad you got back into Goldquest too, we should be good there |
