"Britain's wealth was built on the labors of dark skinned coolies in distant places."

Obviously false. Britain's wealth was built on its being the first to experience the industrial revolution. It may have gained some incremental benefits from seeking out new markets for its products around the world, and using coolies to supply inputs but these are second order effects on the major source of its wealth.
