Supreme Leader: Muslims' Discord Serves Zionists, US Interests
TEHRAN (Fars News Agency)- Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei stressed the need for Islamic solidarity, warning that sowing of discord among Muslims serves the interests of the Untied States and Zionists.
Addressing a large congregation of the people in a ceremony to mark the birthday anniversary of Islam's first Lady Hazrat Zahra - Daughter of Prophet Mohammad, the Spouse of Shiites' first Imam (Imam Ali) and mother of Shiites' second and third Imams (Imam Hassan and Imam Hossein) peace be upon them all - here on Thursday, the Supreme Leader reminded that discord among Muslims deals a heavy blow to the religion of Islam.
He further noted allocation of a budget by the US Congress for confrontation with the Islamic Republic of Iran, and said, "To attain its goals and continue its hegemony, the world arrogance is conducting propaganda activities galore to eradicate people's monotheistic thoughts, sever people's loyalty to religion and ruin their campaign against oppression."
Ayatollah Khamenei pointed to the domestic conflicts in Palestine and Lebanon, and said that clashes among Palestinian groups and domestic differences in Lebanon serve the goals and aspirations of the US and Israel, because such conflicts deter them from fighting the Zionist regime of Israel.
He warned that enemies of Islam are using various types of tricks, plots and pretexts to sow seeds of discord among Islamic sects and groups, and called on the entire world Muslims to safeguard Islamic unity and solidarity.
