Most ISPs contacted for this story, however, traced most of the delays to a single piece of equipment: Ascend Communications' new Max TNT WAN access switch,

And though x2 support is limited, they found K56flex support to be virtually nonexistent in some areas.

Some areas...can you name the continents?

"We were able to find consistently working local K56flex numbers in only six of the cities we need, where we had at least one x2 number in each city," he said.
