The biotech party celebrating Independence Day was low key with a restrained fireworks display. But better a party than a funeral. At Friday's close, the Nasdaq Biotech Index was up 1.78% YTD (vs. up .54% YTD a week ago), with the median for the Charity Contest portfolios winding up down -3.18%% YTD (vs. down -4.39%% YTD a week ago). At week's end, 13 of the 31 Contest portfolios were in the black YTD with 12 of 31 beating the NBI.
RCMAC widened his lead with his portfolio now ahead 28.3% YTD, almost 5% more than No. 2, FRED.
