"The reasoning behind consensus thinking is to try and generate the best results." And it generates results because if someone cannot buy into it, then they don't have a stake in the success. If too many don't have a stake, then success is almost certainly going to be elusive. Hmm... Oh yeah, the idea that the stake is their job is considered to be overly authoritarian and, well, doesn't work. At least with anyone who doesn't live in fear of losing their job and has even the slightest hint of creativity. Hmm... You know, this could explain a lot.
