Instead of being the alpha male who gets to pick on everyone below you, you are reduced to being a facilitator, making sure that the ones actually doing the work get the resources they need. And that is a lot of work and it doesn't make you be a stallion with your wife. And, to make it worse, you have to share credit when things go well, and shoulder most of the blame when things go off the rails. Man, that sounds exactly like my work life...
