Do you think it's OK for a religion to teach its female member that proper religious behaviour includes wearing a cloth that covers most her face, while for the male members of the religion there is no such facial wear restriction?
Elroy, that is called freedom of speech, freedom of religion.
No, freedom of speech and religion is the ability to speak as you please and practice whatever religion you please as long as it doesn't harm anyone else. Anyway, that's not the topic of the question. Muslims are free (at least in the US) to dress as they choose, as are non-Muslims.
My question for you was do you think it's OK for a religion to teach its female member that proper religious behaviour includes wearing a cloth that covers most her face, while for the male members of the religion there is no such facial wear restriction?
In other words, do you think that particular practice of Islam is harmful to women, helpful (as religious practices should be), neutral to women, or you got no opinion? I'm not saying it should be illegal, I'm asking YOU what YOU think of that religious behavioral rule for Islamic women, which does not exist for Islamic men. Any view?
Isn't what America is all about? Why is it so hard to accept?
It is accepted. I'm asking you if you think it is a good idea for half a million women worldwide.
When did women in the US had the right to vote?
I don't know, about 1920 or so. Why? |
