KOOL! astrology, alchemy Isaac Newton practiced alchemy. It has been claimed he practiced and believed in astrology, but no evidence exists to support that. 1665-7 were his prime years of invention and work- -about right for a mathematician; they tend to do their greatest work early. Apparently the intense, knowledgeable imagination needed for great work in that field runs out early. (Newton was born in 1643.)
