The population generally votes..

Well it depends on the way you count it. In the last 2 Presidential elections, voter turnout was approx 50%. Of those who voted, approx 50% voted for 1 candidate, and approx 50% voted for the other.

The implication can be drawn which says - approx 75% of the voting population did not vote for the winning candidate.
