<Where is the vision? We cant take care of New Orleans so how do we have a Marshall Plan for the mideast for example?> Precisely -- our capacity for vision and leadership is running on empty. My point is that this is not by accident -- this is the course we chose to be on, and the invasion of Iraq is the textbook case of our leadership bankruptcy. I see no possibility of any meaningful change in policy unless Bush and his gang resign or until new leadership is elected. Until then, we should be doing our best to refocus our vision on what can be done to rebuild the credibility and global leadership role of the US. As more and more Republicans blast Bush and his gang for their leadership failure, there are more rays of hope that we can repudiate our current policies. But we have seen so little vision from would be leaders -- we must test their mettle.
