I am less pessimistic than you are. I dont think iraq has the kind of divide that yugoslavia had but i think al quaeda is trying to do its best to create it. Once eliminated, all things are possible so what is the best way to get rid of 1500 al quaedas. Sarman says: use iraqi nationalism against crazies & once US is gone this can more easily be done. There is some sense to this because now all nationalists of various stripes are just as focused on the US.
