I recall reading at the first of 2001, babies born that year can expect to be around at the turn of the next century. Unless the quality of life, as you just pointed out, can be greatly improved for the aged, seeing the turn of the century is only a curse. At 90 years of age my mother hasn't been well since my dad died, 6 years ago.
