Tom, the mercury levels in glacier bay have risen considerably. A lot of it is coming form china as we are right in the wind patterns coming from China and Russia. I would say coal fired power plants spewing mercury around the world my end up being one of the biggest problems because it is so toxic just a little in the body impairs mental capabilities; and it is contaminating the worlds food chain. Fish have become unsafe to eat in much of the world. I do not eat much rock fish as they can live to be 100 and accumulate lots of mercury. The same with large halibut. I stick pretty much to salmon as they just go out to sea for a few years and always cik out the samll halibut. So mercury saturating the world's food chain is a chronic problem that will plague our children and our chidlren's chidldren and they will ask why did we let it happen. Just as we ask our fore fathers why they killed all the buffelo and allowed slaves in the constitution.
