There are lots of time tables on SI about Katrina, the LA Governor, and the Mayor, as well as FEMA, michael. I suggest you check out Advanced Search and you will see again that the Feds were there, but the LA Gov didn't and wouldn't sign the authorization to let them in for about 48 hours after the hurricane hit.
As a counterpoint, the hurricane was much worse in Alabama, but the Governor there invited the Feds in At Once!
You can't blame Bush for every single thing, even though I know you try to do so.
But that isn't to say I think GWB does everything right. I'm really very angry that he has done NOTHING, nor has the Congress to tighten our borders. Why do we spend Billions of dollars on protecting our country, when we let Millions of ILLEGALS in. We don't even know who these people are nor where they are from.
We allow Foreign Countries to even give the ILLEGALS guide books on how to get in Illegally, AND how to get all the bennefits as if they were a citizen. ?????
