Yeah, that guy is living my current dream. If we all did that, we could probably quit importing oil. I'm just intrigued by the resilience of millions of individual power producers all across America.

As a computer guy, it's analogous to the mainframe/terminal model of computing compared to the network/distributed model of computing. In the old mainframe model, when the mainframe went down, ALL the terminals were dead. In the distributed model, only the computer that goes down is dead.

It's just a much more reliable model of power production. A terrorist could take down a power plant, but he couldn't take down 100,000. The government should subsidize and do everything possible to encourage us all to follow that guy's example.
