I didn't admit it. I just didn't challenge it. Bit of nuance, there. <g>

you are just too, too hung up on nuance, lane

when i said "thanks for that admission"....

that was IRONY

and i deliberately left off the 'g' wondering if you would get it

obviously not<g>

dictionary.reference.com

note number 7

i hardly expected you to admit to 'snobbery' when you could not admit to the 'good faith' (hah! good one!) effort in using 'imaginary friend' in conversation as condescension

It's useless to try to tell people that they shouldn't be offended by something you say in good faith.

but i thought words had meaning?

so if i say, 'great job, bitch!' to someone i hardly know, you think that would be acceptable, because of my *intent*

urbandictionary.com

note again #7, bad of course, meaning *good*

point of fact is that it would be acceptable and even appreciated to a close friend who totally got my drift

now, conversely to your usage of 'imaginary friend'

i would equate using that to

'great job, nigga!'

i would never say that to a black, but blacks say that sort of thing to each other all the time

yes, yes.....

i'm just imagining you speaking in a conversation with the pope....or billy graham...or the reverend al.....

'so how's everything in your world with your imaginary friend!?'

spoken with the best of intent, i am sure....

:)
