Sheesh... I hate shots... as a child they were always having fun with me... allergies, warts on my inside upper arm, etc.
I outgrew the allergies. When I was about five or so they strapped me down on the doctors table with a plastic band to burn off the warts... I broke through the band... served them right... hurting me with that silly wart burning instrument. Probably accounts for my not like my hands to be tied down in surgery... period over and out. If someone wants to tie my hands down they can do it after I am asleep.

When I had my sight 80% restored (vitrectomy) they promised they would not do that so I signed all the papers. They had to keep me semi awake to help them as it would be a better surgery. Then this sweet little nurse comes in and said... We won't tie your hands down as promised but we do have to wrap them under the blanket... half way through the surgery they unwrapped my right arm and let an assisting doctor hold my hand...I could not relax enough for the surgeon... serves them right for lying... IF there is ever a next time I shall look very closely at all they promise and fill in the details myself before I sign anything. Lesson learned :)
