if I was a pro of politics, I would want to know why the message of paul is resonating - even though he is not the best messenger? I won't claim to be a pro but I have an opinion on that. He is "resonating" with you and a relative small handful of folks because he's not just antiwar, he's isolationist. Before you say, no, he's just anti-interventionist, let me point out he's against the UN and NATO. "He also wants America to withdraw from the United Nations and NATO." washingtonpost.com (Okay, the UN I could maybe go along with, but NATO - I think we're safe in saying someone who wants to pull out of our most significant int'l alliance can be presumed to be against the idea of any int'l alliances - iow is isolationist.) Anyway his isolationism inspires some folks who are generally liberal-oriented enough to overlook* his opposition to pretty much everything else they value: Like his being against all abortion and fetal stem cell research.. and being against Kyoto and all environmental regs.. being against gov't financed health care for all.. being against gay marriage .. being for letting oil companies drill in ANWR and pretty much anywhere else right up to the WH lawn... etc. *Or maybe the resonators are just ignorant of the panoply of his positions.
