What's your impression of doctors, by the way, if you don't think most of them are honest and professional?

I think Frist is an excellent example. Doctors complain they are going broke but when you look a little deeper you find most are like Frist with tons of money in real estate and other ventures. That's why he didn't run again......too many people were interested in his assets and whether he had divided loyalties. Plus, when Terry Schiavo was going rah rah, Frist stood up and said he looked at a video of Schiavo and he knew she was alive. I almost fell over........no creditable doctor would make such a statement based on such a cursory examination. If a doctor like Frist can let his ideology influence him in a life or death matter like he did with Schiavo, what makes you think the same thing would not happen with a lesser issue like a national health program?

Please, I have learned over the last 7 years that many in power or positions of influence speak with a forked tongue. I now listen carefully to what they say and never ever take anything at face value. That's why I probably was the first to criticize Powell, McCain and Blair on this thread. Some people have great sound bites but you need to dig further before determining their character. I now add Gupta to the list.
