Dwight, I've read the other responses to the question why Iomega bought the CD-R burners, and I am perplexed. I agree it is too small an order for external production, yet the suggestion that they are for internal document use bothers me.

What are they doing buying CD-R burners when they know where to get JAZ disks and drives cheap? It would be an embarrassment (though a small one) for IOM to internally use CD-R, a cheaper but slower and less capacious technology, rather than spend a few dollars more and stand behind JAZ.

My hope is they are trying to reduce the lead time for software publishing by ironing out the bugs in-house while also reducing pre-release pirating.
