Thought you would enjoy this one. Just received from my nephew who is preparing to go to Iraq in a few weeks as a PFC 11B. He is anxious to get over there and get to work. These kids are absolutely wonderful, highly motivated, and deserve all our support and a lot more.
FYI - A 11B is an Infantryman. EIB is the highly coveted Expert Infantryman Badge. Hey, we're doing EIB testing, and we're doing the prerequisites now.
Qualify expert on range, day and night land nav, 12 mile road march in 3 hours, and a PT test - 75% in all events. I have all prerequisites done except the PT test. I failed it by 5 sit ups, but there is a retest Tuesday, and I'm sure I'll get it. I'm one of 7 in our platoon who made the road march, and the only private who made it. There's one other joe who made it, he's a specialist. I finished the road march with only two seconds to spare, and had to sprint the final 2 1/2 minutes to get it on time, but I still made it. I am, as our platoon sergeant puts it, the "lone survivor."
Thought I'd let you know.
