pocotrader think about this: the people vote in politicians, so blame the people. Good people usually do not run because if they beleive certain things and are honest they will not get elected.

The most perfect person in the US could not get elected to any major office if they are an aethiest. Chris Mathews once asked Ronald Reagan junior (a man I admire greatly) if he would ever run for office. He said: "I can't, I am an athiest)!

And many people are one issue voters like "pro life voters".

People say they want honest politicians, but they sure won't vote for them. They voted in bush twice!!

But the best example is when Nixon ran against George Mcgovern. YOu know about Nixon, but do you know about George McGovern?

MacGovern was a second world war fighter pilot and almost all of his squadron pals were killed. PHD I think and a man Bobby Kennedy called the most decent man in the senate.

He was tough, smart and decent.

Nixon avoided the draft, was a pathological liar and a hateful and nasty man who cared nothing about the country and had to resign over corruption.

Nixon beat Macgovern in 49 out of 50 states.

The people had spoken.

I blame the people for not voting for decent smart candidates. They have their chances!
