I think Canada is unique in the creation of ventures. While there is much talk about the hollowing out of Canadian industry there is a vibrant incubator in the Venture exchange.

As an example - Berkley Petroleum was taken out by Anadarko. A few years later the management - I am sure all made wealthy by Andarko - formed Duvernay.
