I recently saw a segment on 60 minutes where the head Comptroller of the US said that in 30 years (not that long a time) Government revenues will only be able to pay the interest on all the debt we will owe by that time. Thats a total catastrophic event for the USA worse that any threat some two bit nation like Iran could pose to us for instance. It is the great tragedy of our political times in that the discussion has been hijacked by the shrill spin coming from both sides just when we need wise leadership. I wonder if God must have forsaken us to have sent us Bush just at a time we needed a great leader to bring people together and make tough choices. Yeesh - instead we blunder on in total oblivion and have the multi-trillion dollar mess in Iraq. With political discourse in America so perverted I suppose we deserve what we get in the way of politicians.
