We painted ourselves into a corner with Saddam in that he was too "evil" for us to do business with.

In hindsight I think we should have helped him develop his oil fields. He hated Iran, was able to keep a lid on Sunni/Shia schism, and Iraq would be pumping 6 - 8 million barrels of oil a day with a barrel costing half of what it currently does on the world markets.

Not to mention we wouldn't have suffered so many casualties and wasted so many trillions in treasure banging our head against the Iraqi rock. It looks like we will leave the area in total chaos.

I mean who cares if Saddam was pr%ck? They are all pr%cks over there in the Middle East - too bad they got all the oil.
