Hi Michael, I just saw your response to my post, a link to the German anthem, Deuchland Uber Alles.
The suggestion of your link must be that I am a fascist, heir to the Nazis regime in German in the 1930s.
Is this in fact your suggestion? And if so, is it accurate?
Let us make some comparisons.
My problem with American foreign policy is not that it should be more aggressive, but the opposite, that it should be less. I want our armies to come home from Asia, from Europe, and especially from the Middle East. I want to close down all 700 bases that we have established around the world.
By way of comparison, let us look at you and your people, and what you all are doing. You illegally occupy land in the West Bank that is not yours. The reason you occupy this land, which you call Judea and Samaria, is because you need weltanshaung – living space.
Hum. This is an interesting echo from the past, is it not?
In your treatment of the people whose land you take, you are brutal, sadistic and racist. To justify such conduct, you dehumanize the people of the West Bank, and think of them as inferior.
Hum.....another interesting echo.
Of course, there are also many of you who hear vague and disturbing reports about the activity of your IDF in the West Bank, but DON’T WANT TO KNOW THE DETAILS. You want the results of the policy, for sure -- just no details about implementation.
Yet another echo, this time from the direction of the Good German, only now, we have to change the noun, and bring matters up to date. What we are dealing with here is the Good Jew. Had enough, Michael?
I thought so.
I recommend that you not try to be cute. You lack sufficient imagination and education. The wiser course for you is to stick with your all purpose, endlessly repeated epithet. You won’t get far, but at least you will save yourself embarrassment.
Also, you might save yourself feelings of disquiet. It must be difficult for you people when an argument, an insight, or an unguarded reflection knocks you out of Jerusalem, and lands you in Athens. By this I mean, it must be a terrible moment when you are pulled away from the comforts of your closed tribal world, and find yourself located in the more austere world of the European Logos, where there is common morality, and where rules that you apply to other people you are expected to apply to yourselves. |
