Interesting... but I'm not sure I see the connection to the creeping Big Government totalitarian assault on individual's rights. (Unless your quote is an allegory about the loss of innocence and freedom in society?) Things like secret administrative hearings, with the victim having no opportunity to contest the decision in court or present their side of the story, (or even know about the hearing happening).... and doing away with the "presumption of innocence", moving to a legal system that presumes that your 'property' is guilty --- leaving the burden of 'proving it's innocence' and reclaiming it up to the individual... alone fighting against the entire resources of the federal government for as long as the government wants to string it out.
