We've had unpopular wars before - 1812, Mexican War, Civil War, Phillipines War, Vietnam.

Are Madison, Polk, Lincoln, McKinley, Taft, Kennedy, Johnson, Nixon considered the worst American Presidents? Not by and large.

I think a great case can be made that Jimmy Carter was the worst President. He's even continued to harm the country after leaving office.
