They are only so if you fail to take into account what you are primarily talking about, viz the fall in value of the dollar. I'm not talking about the dollar measured against a basket of foreign currencies. All currencies are getting weaker. If you don't agree, go shopping in Canada where, they say, the dollar is strong ! Bah!

I hear that the stock market has reached an "all time high". But is the dollar that measures it today the same dollar we knew in the year 2,000 ?
