The other side of that coin is that they can more easily walk down a stock after a reverse split without everyone bailing. A drop of 20% pre-split puts the share price sub penny. That's frightening and even the most loyal shareholders might cut bait. Post-split shares, with their higher price, can be walked down another 80% before it goes sub penny and people give up the ghost ....just another side of the psychological plus and minus of a reverse split.
