"Not true." Yes it is true. You are totally wrapped up in the pretenses, thinking that the Iraqi people are so stupid they will not realize they are getting ripped off. "I asked you if you would agree to support the freely elected government of Iraq based on your definition of success, knowing that it would require the continued support of the US military." My definition of success is that the Iraqis have sovereignty as regards their oil. If that were the case and we were actually doing as we profess we are doing then I would support the continued military presence there. There is the answer to your totally stupid question. But unfortunately that is NOT what is going on.
