Irish catholics are always one of the first to jump to aid in any humanitarian crisis irrellevant of religion or politics. The situation in 1947/8 is a WHOLE lot different than the one in 2007. The fact that the Irish catholics supported the Jewish cause at the birth of the state and now are sympathetic to the issues of the occupied Palestinians proves the non-existense of a blind bias.

Its a matter of right and wrong Mike, not favoritism for a certain religious or ethnic group. I would hazard a guess that if Israel agreed to a pullback to pre '67 borders and halted settlements, the attitude of the rest of the world (i.e. all western nations that are not the US) to the conflict would change dramatically.

What Nadine and a lot of other fervent Zionists seem to believe is that its an anti-semitic sentiment on the part of the objectionists. "Israel is always held to a different standard" is a common cry.....what's right and wrong is the same for everyone. Its not anti-semitism, its pro-justice.....
