Most foreign fighters and suicide bombers in Iraq come from Saudi Arabia, despite attempts by US officials to portray Syria and Iran as the main culprits of violence, a US newspaper reported Sunday.

Citing an unnamed senior US military officer and Iraqi lawmakers, the Los Angeles Times newspaper said about 45 percent of all foreign militants targeting US troops and Iraqi security forces were from Saudi Arabia, 15 percent from Syria and Lebanon, and 10 percent from North Africa

This is why we need an independent press so that we can find out the truth. We are told over and over again by Bush the problem in Iraq is Syria and Iran. And yet, when the numbers are tallied, it turns out its the Saudis who are the problem; the same Saudis who perpetrated 9/11. And its not like Saudi Arabia has a much bigger population than its neighbors. In fact, its just the opposite. So why then do the Saudis produce so many suicide bombers and why does Bush ignore the problem?

A while back I watched part of special that featured the wife of Syria's ruler. I don't know whether it was purely a puff piece but if her husband is the bad guy Bush says he is, then she is an extraordinary actress worthy of a several Oscars.
