I think everyone is missing the mark on the educational woes front.

What is sorely lacking is good parenting! When I was a kid, just a few years ago (ha ha), my greatest fear was a C on my report card or bad behavior comments from my teacher(s). A trip to the Principle's office was gravy compared to explaining my lack of achievement to my parents.

Those days are gone it appears. Single parent families, no parent families, don't give a damn families seem to be the order of the day now. Lack of achievement is not the fault of the student or parents, but totally on the teachers.

Sure, there are a fair amount of bad teachers but there even more bad students, students who have no interest or incentives to achieve and that goes back to a lack of parenting.

So, LBJ, so much for your "Great Society" initiative. The end result was minions of dummies addicted to lapping at the government trough and voting for the Mother Tums lib candidates.
