You know, when I get something I want to cook in the crockpot I go to the internet, and just surf the recipes. There are a million crock pot recipes on the net. Even better, many recipes are just as good in the crockpot as in the oven- so it's a cinch to adapt regular recipes to the crockpot. As long as you use enough liquid, and spices you like, it's really hard to ruin anything. I don't think we've ever had a meal ruined by the crockpot. Once in a while the meat gets too tender, so then I use it to fill tortillas for soft tacos. Not much of a failure :-)

They have a really nice crockpot at costco, or they did- it has a stonewear liner. It's oval, and can hold a whole leg of lamb (which is good for us since we like lamb), or two chickens.

I think the crockpot may have come with a booklet too. I can't say I ever looked at it.
