The Saudis will never get involved in day-to-day operations, but will need to be involved when a major decision is made.

So, were the Saudis involved in the "major decision" by Hamas to throw Fatah out of Gaza about a month ago, and kill a bunch of the Fatah leadership in Gaza? That was about the most major decision made by the people of Gaza in the past 20 or 30 years.

If no, then you're mistaken. The people of Gaza do what they want to do without Saudi approval.

In yes, then wow! You are a major believer in ME conspiracy theories. Why in the world did the Saudis host the two groups in Q1:07 to pursue a unity Palestinian government, and then approve of an internal civil war between Fatah and Hamas in Q2:07? Those amazing controlling Saudis sure must have something up their sleaves that the rest of us cannot fathom.
