I stand corrected.....empires come and go but regions, once conquered and colonized, eventually develop into autonomous states once an empire crumbles. Europe is the perfect example of such a dynamic.

Peace is only possible in a newly conquered region (which is what we're talking about here) if you.....

a) Anhialate and enslave the population, or

b) Broker an agreement for right of return and un-occupy....

a) is not an option although I get the feeling some people here think it should. b) is the only way. Israel wants to control and occupy the land yet is stunned that the displaced population is not particularly enthusiastic about this plan.

If peace is what Israel wants then a right of return to an independent Palestinian state is what it needs to let happen. Whether Israel is Jewish, Christian, Islamic or Atheist doesn't matter a toss.......
