First off, I have NEVER believed a FENCE would keep out TERRORISTS. I want the fence, but merely to SLOW DOWN illegal immigration. The best DEFENSE against Terrorists is KNOWLEDGE. Knowledge such as we obtain by monitoring overseas phone calls and a number of other things I hope we NEVER learn about as to work it has to be SECRET.
As to "gut" feeling, have you never used that term, I have often. Its just a way of saying I think we are in for it. He sure as hell SHOULDNT tell us WHY he says that as then its not a SECRET ANYMORE.
As to Bush, I have never heard him be wishy washy about things. Basically, he always has said we have to be RIGHT every time, the terrorists only have to be RIGHT once. So the odds are not good for us and the more we weaken our methods of obtaining knowledge the worst our odds become FOR US. I just hope and pray that if it comes and we must get hit that the BASTARDS that are weakening our ability to defend ourselves are the ones hit. jdn
