Some folks think we should have picked a strong man and turned it over to him. Maybe. I'm unsure.


We should have left them to their own devices. My hunch is their own stongman would have emerged. The idea that "we" should have picked their strongman for them is the wrong approach. "We" should have left them to their post-Saddam fate, which they chose for themselves, and "we" should have supported "their" decision.
