Great system of yours!

Several of the websites had automatic calculators to size A/Cs so I used them to figure out what we needed. For the upstairs bedroom I over-sized that one because I knew I would be using part of that cooling during the day for another bedroom (actually my computer room)... using a fan in the hall works great. I got a larger bedroom A/C - 8,000 BTU on sale at Best Buy for $99.

Downstairs is a different matter - since we have shade trees around our home, I figured the low end would do it for our living room, dining room, family room and kitchen. Sure enough, 12,000 BTUs works great... again, using one fan circulates the air through the 4 rooms and keeps them at 70 during the day. That one we got from Lowes on sale for around $199.

We turn off the fans at night and that conserves electricity as the rooms they cool (with the A/C air) are not in use then.

Works greater than I ever thought possible! My wife thinks it is great also and she was really leery of the idea at first.
