Mark,
I like to hear your point of view. Lets hope we are both right and the true value of AVNT will be found at $2.

I am on the board of a bank and we have a stock portfolio. Some of the stocks are recs from our broker and some are from the treasurer who is in charge of the portfolio and talks to the broker. The broker always sells us whatever his company is pushing at the time and the timing is never in our favor. Ocasionally someone from the boards finance/investment committee who hires the broker will read an article in the WSJ about a stock and call him for an opinion, he reads the report from his CRT screen and the board member then asks the finance committee to purchase the stock for the bank. Thats how its done at our bank and at virtually all the banks and small pension funds. I am not on that committee. The broker always spouts the company line and never investigates further. We as short sellers pour over every report word by word looking for hidden information. The analysts don't even read it, they call the company. We talk about law suits and even get copies of them. The analyst calls the company for their view of the suit. We follow every tic on the tape looking for weakness. The analyst explains the downturns as buying opportunities. Wall Street Analyst is a contradiction of terms. When AVNT bites the dust the analyst will say they were lied to by the company.
