Cos,

I believe you are correct.

To answer an earlier Q, Amerindo (at the end of June) owned over 6.1M shares (or about 25% of the free trading shares) when you add in their off shore accounts and investment fund. I put together a database and uploaded all of their information from their 13D and 13D/A's. Their average cost is about $22.13/share.

Given the trading pattern the last few weeks, I wouldn't doubt if they were buying small lots to bump up the price and then dumping larger amounts in the attempt to get out of this dog. The next 13D/A should be interesting.

But the bottom line is, they are making money on every sale over $22. And I agree that will be the next support level. I haven't found any information to indicate that Fidelity was positioning in AVANT! To whomever posted that info, where did you find it? I want to confirm.

American Express owns about 300K shares, but that's the only other institution I could find that was into AVANT!

From a TA perspective, this looks like a good week for anyone holding a short on AVNT.

Have! A! Nice! Day!
