For Rush's 'vote of support', both Joe and I were downstairs in the basement of the old church we had purchased. Downstairs was where the church kitchen had been and was really our primary living area.

For JFK I remember reaching for our phone in the small kitchen we had when Joe was stationed in the Math Department at West Point.

It seems kitchens are where the radio resides.

The computer and TV was 9/11. Later that morning a sliding door was being delivered for the "kitchen" and we asked the delivery man to come in and watch. We all stood transfixed. It was 'another world'....

I don't recall where I was for Reagan and for MLK,Jr we were in the car (going out to dinner with another couple) and I believe we were close to going under a small underpass when we heard the news on the radio.

Isn't that something....that we would recall these moments and we let the important moment by moment of our days slip by as routine?
