There are a lot of people on both sides of this issue that WANT no resolution. For both sets of extremists its the best scenario. Without the occupation there can be no expansion for Israel and in turn no cause celebre for the Arabs. The only resolution involves a separate Palestinian state and that requires Israel to turn over land that was taken illegaly and for the Palestinians in turn to recognize the legitimacy of its neighbor.

I happen to believe that you are wrong......I believe resolution will happen. I believe that the next US administration will HAVE to bring about a peace agreement in order for us to repair the incredible damage that this current crew has visited upon us in the eyes of the ME nations (and the rest of the world in general). This is not counting what further damage can be done between now and Nov. 2008. The only road to stability in the whole region begins with resolution to the Israeli/Pal conflict.
