Some of the best bargains we have gotten are from Food Lion. This week, Safeway has some really good deals so we will probably go there for at least one shopping run.

The spaghetti we had tonight was delicious - used part leftover frozen sauce, leftover tomato juice, canned diced mushroom and garlic tomatoes that were on a discontinued item sale at Giant Foods. To increase the amount of meat, I cooked some frozen beef strips which were leftovers with 1/2 lb of bulk sausage. After frying the meat, I put it through our electric meat grinder and dumped it into the sauce in the crockpot. Added 2 cloves of mashed garlic and cooked on low for 6 hours.... fantastic.

And of course we had about 1 1/2 quarts of leftover sauce which I will freeze a quart and use the pint in a future dish this week.

The leftover pasta is stored separately and will probably go for either clam linguini or lo mein.
