Ah, the authors themselves disagree with you. They are all members of the Science Fiction Writers of America. They knew they were writing history of no sort. For example, the spindizzy drive could exist neither at the time the story were written, nor under any current laws of physics. it violates the most basic laws of the science. Also, several of these authors were also fantasy writers. Only if you join a coven can you possibly look at those stories as being history of any sort.
