i zip for insulation. cathedral ceilings leave me without ability to do anything about it now. very expensive to heat and cool contemporary home. lost heat up in ceilings where you freeze below. ha summer its cooler but never put on fans in great room as you take down the heat from ceiling and force a/c to work harder and mine just cannot handle the work load.. so i let the heat rise up there and cold air sit on the bottom for about eight feet. works great. of course i do not use loft.
