Dear Shalom, I am very happy to take out my Bible and kick back. It is almost as good as being in Heaven where we will enjoy the fellowship not only of ourselves and those we know, but Francis, John, John, Teresa, and on and on and on and poor dear brothers and sisters like the Waldenses and others who died in the snow thinking no one even would find their bones, let alone think about them for centuries. 2000 years of the most beautiful people our minds could imagine, and nothing to do forever but enjoy their company. And then 2000 years behind for those who led the way to our precious Jesus.
And all the soldiers who never made it home but bought a ticket to Heaven through their last moments on earth, well, I just about get so excited I feel like having Church!!!!
Shabbot would be a wonderful idea. I think you are kind of doing that already, but I'm sure it would be more fun if you were not alone. I will plan to spend time on Sabbath and type my scripture too. Shabbot would be a good time for others to join, as it is a time I see as dedicated unto God the Father, and I can sure use some quality time with God the Father, for sure. If I interpret scripture correctly, that is about all our precious Lord was here to do. Make a direct pipeline to God the Father. So He most certainly above all would not begrudge us time praising the One who sits on the Throne.
I almost hate to discuss these interpretations as I am afraid that instead of basking in the joy of His presence I am opening up some bizarre door to infinite squabbles about the jots and tittles of our limited understanding of the mystery of the Holy Spirit. But PRAISE GOD, Shalom, I know that would not be with you.
May I please share what seems to me to be about as perfect as we can put it:
Light up our hearts, O Master, who loves mankind, with the pure light of Thy divine knowledge, and open the eyes of our mind to the understanding of Thy gospel teachings; instill in us also the fear of thy BLESSED commandments, that, trampling down all carnal desires, we may enter upon a spiritual manner of living, both thinking and doing such things as as are well pleasing to Thee.
For Thou art the light of our soul and bodies, O Christ our God, and unto Thee we ascribe glory, together with thine Unoriginate Father, and thine All-Holy, Good and Life-Giving Spirit, now and ever, and unto the ages of men.
Wisdom! Let us attend! Let us listen to the Holy Gospel.
Peace be to thee who proclaim the Gospel.
Glory to Thee, O Lord, glory to Thee.
