Yes, I did....Can't think that ethanol is the answer though...Look at all the corn (and now other grains) price raise....Corn as in corn syrup, animal feed, every type of food we can think of, etc....prices are going through the roof for all sorts of products at the grocery store. It costs the money in gasoline terms to grow corn, to fertilizer it, water it, etc etc, and then add to that cost to get the grain to the place where it is made into the synthetic gas products....
I think we have to have a product that does not in any way rely on gasoline to get it to the marketplace to run whatever type car or vehicle on wheels we can come up with.
And, as I said re: yesterdays experience, I think a case could be made that driving a golf cart is actually a life saving experience... The freeway was REALLY bad yesterday!
I'm of a mind that if the US Government GAVE each family ONE golfcart, and each State took ONE lane each direction on EVERY road for those golf carts, we would begin saving money on gas AND ROAD BUILDING immediately!!!
Have you taken a look at what is happening on 1-90 by Mercer Island recently. Another (WPA) job construction. They are making one more lane on 1-90...and tearing up all sorts of roadway, to say nothing of VERY expensive landscaping, plus making our lives more h*ll...
A case could be made for allowing golf cart type vehicles on the roads as an alternative, fuel saving mode of transportation. |
